Hi all
I’ve had my discovery 5 for 18 months, I’ve always had the battery low start engine light come on, 6 months ago had a new battery fitted seemed to be ok for a while, over Christmas I went to France 2500 mile round trip, when I got home the following day the battery was dead had to get the AA out, they also said battery was ok, but you must have a battery drain somewhere, I have noticed the the hazard button it illuminated when the car has been locked, when I have checked the day after it’s still illuminated, and the battery is low. Can anyone help me during me mad.

Many thanks

If the hazard warning light stays on for more than 30mins it means the cars brain is still doing something, I don't yet have a disco 5 but do have a jag ipace which is pretty much the same electronics and mine regulary does this and flattens the battery. what I usually have to do is unlock car get in start it, stop it then lock the car again, usually 20 mins later the car is sound asleep. I have been told this is usually caused by a bad update on one of the modules often caused by the OTA updates not instaling correctly, only way to resolve is to get it checked at dealers, generaly 8 weeks wait+ and an all day job, also they generally won't update the software under warranty. I have also found that sometimes the bonnet or fuel cap has not shut properly or engage switch fully which can keep the vehicle awake, go around and check evrything is shut soundly.
