Hi, I have joined the forum in solidarity with the leaking roof club!
A recent change from BMW to Land Rover saw me buying a 2017 Disco 3 weeks ago, same story as nearly everyone else here-after the first significant amount of rain 2 weeks ago passenger footwell filled with water, centre console cup holders filled with water, all headlining and vanity mirrors wet, passenger seat only damp!
On calling the dealer (bearing in mind I’d only owned it 1 week) was told it couldn’t be booked in for a couple of weeks because no courtesy cars. I said ok, don’t need a car, but funnily enough it’s still not going in until later today, grrr.
I have been unable to drive it for the last 2 weeks because I just get soaked with water coming off the rear view mirror, as well as water continually running out from under the passenger side dash.
The £1000 EBay special Subaru I bought to take the dogs out in is watertight, why on earth isn’t a 40k supposedly rugged motor? It’s all been pretty disappointing so far....
Help! leaking roof, 2018 Disco
Georger57 make sure they dry the car out properly, which my dealer seems to have decided was not necessary.
Given that these vehicles cost between £50k and £80k new and £40k plus at one year old, it is amazing the number of leaking windscreens on this board, other boards and in dealerships. I cannot think of another manufacturer who has difficulty keeping the water out. It’s only a matter of time before this gets picked up by one of the consumer affairs programmes.

I found the forum after searching for issues regarding leaking discovery 5. 6 weeks ago I purchased an approved used 2017 Discovery 5. Since I have had it there has been problems with condensation, and then this last week with the heavy rain the source began obvious after floor mats, seats and cup holders were soaked in water with it dripping from above the passenger side and through the interior lights.
The land rover dealer in Milton Keynes was of course not helpful, ignoring my initial complaints, and then later fobbing me off with a week’s delay whilst my £45k car was unusable with wet seats. Strangely after complaining to management a slot and spare car, as if by magic, became available the next day. Let’s see if they manage to fix it.
Whilst it is in I have also asked for the boot to be aligned correctly and the paint damage to be corrected, and the software to be updated. Are there any other recalls or too frequent problems I need to get checked?

Our 2019 D5 HSE Lux has the same problem. We've been waiting two months for a replacement windscreen and finally called JLR Corporate USA to ask what the delay was since it started raining here again and now we're seeing more things get damaged (all of which will be warranty work). They said that there weren't enough windscreens available.
Um, WTF. This is a very premium product and we paid over £70K for it. Numerous software glitches to deal with as well. Shameful, really.

Hi All
New member here, just wanted to air my frustration on the same issue. 2018 HSE Luxury experienced the same issue just before lockdown. Local dealer replaced full panoramic roof then to find it was still leaking!! Frames were the issue. Picked up the car post lockdown and just 2 weeks later yes you’ve guessed it water still coming in!! Land Rover CustomerService very rude, Local dealer sympathetic. I’ve lost all confidence in the car. A Luxury Brand with a slogan of above and beyond far from it!!!!

Thank you for your post.
I am sorry to learn of your concerns.
Please may I request that you send me a PM with your VIN and contact details and I would be more than happy to investigate further.
Many Thanks

My Disco 5, bought new in January, has just sprung the same leak: alarm went off this morning, and when I investigated, i found loads of water dripping from the overhead console, and the headlining sodden across the top of the windscreen.
Land Rover Assistance man came out, seemed aware of the problem, and arranged for me to take it in to local LR service place this afternoon and pick up a loan car. Good news? Replacement is a near-identical D5, even down to the colour. Bad news? Got soaked driving to the service place from all the water dripping, and fix (plus drying out) is likely to take two weeks...

Hi, I'm a newbie here too. So angry with this... I to have a leaky windscreen. Bought a ex-demonstator Disco5 LUX HSE S16, registered in June 17, and I bought it in Sept 17. Lockdown came in March so haven't really driven as much as I normally would've. Kids went back to school September and from then had noticed drips running down the inside of the front windscreen. Thought is was condensation at first but it got worse and realised it was bad after rain. Its now pouring through the window console where the rear view mirror is and dripping down to the cup holder. Can't believe prestigious car of high value would do this. I've recently booked it's 3rd service and complained that water was leaking in blah blah, dealer said that as its out of warranty they would charge to look at it. I've googled and see its a major issue... a can't believe they haven't been recalled. I've raised it with a friend of mine who works in a senior post at JLR so hoping they can help me. Anyone got the problem sorted out of warranty?
