Hi there.
I have a 2021 Discovery 5 Commercial that I'm having issues with.
The internal boot flap does not operate at all, and the boot does not open all the way with the remote fob. With the internal boot flap, you can see a small white plastic part slightly move when the button is pressed. It also doesn't go up when you close the main boot.
Please see videos of the faults here:
Does anyone know what this could be? Perhaps an easy fix before I book it into the garage.
Thanks!
Boot opening issues
Hi there.
Just a quick update for anyone else who has similar issues.
The boot flap had a broken ball connector on the ram itself. I had to clean out the hinges for the flap, as they were gummed up with all sorts of rubbish, mostly sand. I fitted a new ram, freed the hinges, and applied some lithium grease, so now everything is working fine. There is just the mystery of the boot not opening with the key now. I manually opened it all the way after pressing the remote button, then pressed the remote button to close it, and it closes all the way. I have an IDD tool coming today, so I'll check there to see if there is a calibration or something for it.
