Hi

I have a 2018 Disco 5 HSE and it recently started showing a number of faults

Aeb not working
Stability control
Abs fault
Hdc
Stability control
Forward alert

AA plugged in and diagnosed a fault with the rear right side wheel speed sensor - Short to +/ground, or open circuit.

I bought and fitted a new sensor today, which was simple enough, but am seeing the same warnings on the dash. Am now unsure of what the issue is and think it needs to go into a repairer.

Before I do that, does anyone have experience of this issue and might the system need some sort of reset to start working properly with the new sensor?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

My 2022 Disco is currently in the dealers with a similar issue. I'm hoping to get it back next week so will let you know the outcome. I think it's something to do with the charging system but will wait and see.

2019 Discovery SE with Supercharged Gas engine.

A couple weeks ago we experienced similar warnings/lights. There were many diagnostic codes, most of them related to communications and lost data. There were two related to ABS specifically, one a wheel speed sensor fault, and the other C053D-28 (brake pressure sensor A - out of range / zero adjust failure). I could not find information online on the C053D, but I could see that left front wheel speed sensor was bad. (Ohm meter showed open connection.) So I replaced it, verified that the wheel speed was now correct, cleared my codes, and hoped for the best.

Unfortunately C053D-28 is being generated again. Due to the various bus related issues, and that my battery was more than 3 years old, I went ahead and replaced it. Again reset diagnostics. This time I also recalibrated the electric parking brake.

Alas, C053D-28 continues to reappear. There are a few bus errors, not as many as before, but I am focusing on the brake pressure sensor fault. Looking around in my diag reader, I did see a data stream for something Brake Fluid Line Hydraulic Pressure. At rest (i.e. when no one is pressing pedal) the pressure is 15.33 bars. When force is applied on the pedal, the pressure rises, and then returns to 15.33 when force is released. I wonder if this is anything to do with the C053 code, and whether the pressure is supposed to be "0.0" when no force is on the pedal? Those are just naïve questions, since I am not confident what should be happening.

Can anyone weigh in on this issue? I have contacted the local LR dealer, and they are happy to schedule for a look.

I am actually surprised that I cannot find information online for this specific code, nor can I find parts that seem to be a match for "brake pressure sensor". I realize it might not be available for purchase separately, perhaps part of a bigger assembly like ABS module, or the brake fluid reservoir... But still it surprises me the lack of information, even within these forums.

I would LOVE to hear back, and it might help the original poster. Also, I have read about the RAVE manuals, but they seem to be for earlier models. Where does the community go for service manual details on newer models, such as my 2019? I'm happy to purchase, I just don't seem to be looking in the right location.

Hej,

I had exact the same fault codes on my Disco5. The sensor it self was totally fine! But as you see on the pictures, the connection to it was the problem! there was a crack in the cable! Hope it helps you guys!

This week the car suddenly started to display yellow warning lights as per pictures. It clears on ignition switch off but reappears after a few miles of driving.
I suspect a defective wheel speed sensor. Its going in for a diagnostic check £150 & repair in a week but has anyone got any experience of something similar and advice?
